At Forest School, children get the chance to slow down, breathe fresh air, and reconnect with the natural world. It’s a space where they can rediscover the magic of being outdoors—climbing trees, spotting bugs, and feeling the seasons change around them. This connection helps them grow a deep respect and love for nature that lasts a lifetime.
It’s also fantastic for little bodies! From balancing on logs to scrambling up hills, Forest School is full of active play that builds strength, coordination, stamina, and confidence—all while having fun.
And just as importantly, it nurtures wellbeing. The calm, open environment and freedom to play in their own way can help reduce stress and anxiety. With each muddy milestone—whether it’s lighting a spark, building a den, or just trying something new—children build resilience, independence, and a wonderful sense of “I can do it!”
Hi, I’m Sarah, and I’ve been working with children in early education for over 10 years. I’m currently the Deputy Manager of a Pre-School and I am a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader— I absolutely love what I do!
Outdoor learning is my passion. Over the years, I’ve seen just how powerful nature-based play can be for young children. From building strength and coordination to growing confidence, resilience, and the ability to manage big emotions—these are life skills that children carry with them far beyond the forest.
In a world that’s becoming more and more digital, I believe it’s more important than ever to help children (and families!) reconnect with nature. My hope is to build a warm, welcoming community where little ones can thrive in the great outdoors—learning, laughing, and growing together in the fresh air.
